Its home page describes nearly 40 years of fireplace and chimney work, offers fireplace and chimney installation, and says it keeps wood and gas fireplaces, inserts and freestanding stoves safe. It names Loveland in its service area and calls itself certified and licensed, with no street address shown. Ask whether it installs the stove itself or only the chimney, and confirm its Loveland contractor license.

Loveland’s Building Division says a building permit is required for new construction, additions and alterations, and lists residential HVAC among projects that need one; a wood stove or insert with a new chimney would be reviewed the same way. Residential forms are emailed to eplan-res@cityofloveland.org, and plan review currently runs 20–30 working days per round. A homeowner may do the work on a primary residence with a homeowner affidavit; mechanical work in rental homes needs a City of Loveland contractor’s license. The city adopted 2024 ICC codes effective July 1, 2026. Call 970-962-2505 to confirm the permit type and to check a contractor’s license.
City of Loveland: Permitting FAQsCDPHE’s winter Action Day burning limits apply in Denver, Boulder, Broomfield, Douglas and Jefferson counties and parts of Adams and Arapahoe, not Larimer County. We also found no Loveland ordinance restricting burning on high-pollution days, and none on stove emissions. So an EPA-certified stove in Loveland faces no state or city burn-day ban. The statewide rule on which new stoves may be sold and installed still applies, and so does Loveland’s clean-wood rule.
CDPHE indoor burning restrictionsCDPHE says that since May 15, 2020, Regulation No. 4 has barred anyone in Colorado from advertising, selling or installing a new wood-burning stove unless it meets the EPA emission standards in 40 CFR 60.532(b) or (c). That applies in Loveland even though the city adds no stove rule of its own. All wood-burning appliances may burn only clean, dry, untreated wood. Ask the seller for the stove’s certification before you buy.
CDPHE indoor burning frequently requested informationLoveland Code Sec. 15.56.050 says no one may carry out new construction or alteration on a designated landmark site or in a designated historic district without first obtaining a landmark alteration certificate, in addition to other permits. The Building Division forwards permit applications for those properties to Development Services. A new chimney, flue or chase on a designated property should be raised before you apply.
Loveland Municipal Code Sec. 15.56.050Loveland Code Sec. 16.12.040, adopted in 2022, bars disposing of refuse or rubbish by burning except in a permitted incinerator, and says no rubbish or refuse may be burned in a stove or fireplace; only clean, dry, untreated wood is allowed. It is the city code’s only direct rule on what an indoor wood stove may burn. Store firewood so it stays dry through the season.

We found none. CDPHE’s Action Day limits cover metro Denver counties, not Larimer County, and a search of Loveland’s municipal code found no high-pollution-day ordinance. We found no rule limiting which days a certified stove may burn, but city code allows only clean, dry, untreated wood.
The City of Loveland Building Division, for addresses inside city limits. It requires permits for alterations and HVAC work and takes residential forms by email at eplan-res@cityofloveland.org. Its pages do not list wood-stove items, so call 970-962-2505 to confirm the permit type and what to submit.
Not a new one that misses the standard: Colorado’s Regulation No. 4 bars selling or installing a new wood-burning stove that does not meet current EPA limits. CDPHE’s ban on selling used uncertified stoves applies only in metro Denver, so ask the building division before installing an older unit in Loveland.
